Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Groysman said this in the frames of the V Kabinetakh TV show on the 5 Channel on Sunday.
He noted that respective draft law envisioned the decentralization of power and added that respective amendments were absolutely up-to-date and aimed at the consolidation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. Groysman said that the decentralization was a key reform and that the society acknowledged its necessity.
Groysman said the development of the constitutional amendments required adoption of a number of laws that would regulate the work of prefects, local self-government bodies. "It is very important to elaborate these laws and regulate everything that is needed along with the Constitution," he said. The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada noted that "Once these laws are adopted, a modern European phase of Ukraine's development will start."
